Nope, not normal. Did you change any settings? Let me take a look in admin panel and I'll see if it's showing up in there.

You can upload another one by going to "Settings" in the top right corner, click that and then on the right side find "My Settings"

Edit Avatar
Edit Signature
Profile Privacy
Click "edit avatar" and you can add one there. IDK where your avatar went but that's how to add it back. Hope this helps.
