kanga, The problem is a browser setting, but for the life of me I can't remember what I did to fix it. I'll try some searches and see if I can find that thread.
Found it: Read this: http://www.numissociety.com/showthread.php?8996-IE-10-carriage-return&highlight=enter
It appears that vBulletin has a compatibility issue with IE versions....

To fix this, while in your IE browser; go to "Tools", "Compatibility View Settings". You will see that "numissociety.com" is already in the top input text box. Just click the "Add" button to add "numissociety.com" to your list of compatibility websites and press the "Close" button. Close your browser and then go back into the forum and the Enter button should now work.

This same thing happened to me on CT when I got a new computer with a different OS.
Go to "Settings" at the top right, and when the page opens, scroll down the left side to "General Settings". When that page opens, go almost to the bottom of the page to "Miscellaneous Options" and change it to "Standard Editor".

Jim's fix appears to work on a one-time basis.
When I exit and come back in I have to re-apply the fix.
Maybe there's a bit more that I've missed.

One solution is to never leave the site . :)

If the apply does not work try what Chris mentioned. That worked for me.

Kanga, thanks for bringing this to my attention. I had no idea there was a known issue but I'm a Mac user so I'm not in the Windows loop. I'll have to grab G's laptop and see what happens.
At least now there's a thread with the fix so if others have an issue this should help. :thumb:

Kanga, IE stinks big time. Get a new browser like chrome or Firefox........

I like Chrome, that is my choice on the MacBook. I use Safari on the iPad but need to see if Chrome is an option on it.

Firefox indeed. Most folks don't have a clue how much jimmy-rigging has to be done oftentimes behind the scenes to make a site work properly with IE. it's a junk browser for most sites.

Thats funny. My IE works just fine in here but for the life of me I can not get Firefox to allow me to upload images. If I want to post a coin I have to use IE. I even tried doing a fresh install of my OS and Firefox and get the same results. So to each their own. I use IE and Firefox 95% of the time. Once in a while I am forced to use Chrome and I hate it, I have tried Safari and I find it cumbersome and very slow.

Hmmm... working good with Safari. ;)

For me it was the version of IE and the settings. I googled and eventually found a solution. What was funny was the browser worked with all the other vbulletin forums, but this one. I just figured this forum was on different releases than the others.
